About the Function

“Guru Paurnina” is an annual function organized by Kedar Sangeet Vidyalaya’s Students through contribution. The following are the main objectives of the function :-

1. Students felicitate ‘Gurus’ (Teachers) and express gratitude for them.

2. Students perform in presence of Gurus (Teachers), parents, friends, relatives, other known people and strangers, and present, a part of what their teachers have taught them. This helps Students’ assessment by teachers and others, self assessment of Students, and thereby prompts teachers, Vidyalaya Heads and parents / students to improvise the teaching and learing process.

3. The function gives a stage to students and generates confidence in them. Thes helps a lot in personality development and thereby in career development as well.

4. Even for the juniors who do not get an opportunity to perform, it is very much beneficial, as they watch their senior colleagues performing. This gives them a clear idea and vision about what to do and what not to do when they perform in future. Also all students get an opportunity to know about other subjects taught in the Vidyalaya.

5. The programme and it’s ambience generates/ increases interest of the students in their subject.

6. Students also learn event management, since the entire programme is arragend and managed by themselves.

7. The most important part of the function is the performance by the teachers towards the end. This part is the most attractive part of the function. Audience must stay back and watch this, because it is obviously of higher standard than the students’ performances and it sets an example about how to use the knowledge of music and also about how to perform on the stage.
